Each Thursday RoadOne San Diego sells consignment vehicles.
These vehicles may be from dealerships, charities or from private parties. We charge a nominal fee to line your car, wash it and process the paperwork, and we offer the vehicle at auction for you.

What is this all about? How does it work?
We can sell your car for you at our weekly auction. Bring us your car and your paperwork, and we will offer your vehicle to well over a hundred potential buyers each week.

Where are these auctions located?
They are located at Station #7:
7247 Otay Mesa Road
San Diego, CA 92173

What are the benefits (to a consumer/dealership/etc.…)?
We offer the vehicle to either a large group of dealers. If the car has been smogged and is safety certified we can offer it to the public. We handle the advertising, including placing the photo online on our website. We bring the customers in, we accept payment and we take care of the paperwork. You do not have to wait for someone to come to your house to take a picture. You do not have to wait for phone calls. You do not have to wait for appointments to show up. You do not have to listen to someone tell you how much they dislike your car (so they can offer you hundreds less than you are asking), only to have them tell you they need to think about it (forcing you to WAIT some more).

What are the laws?
If your car or truck is safety certified and smogged, you may offer it to the general public. If not, you may sell it as is to wholesale auto dealers. RoadOne San Diego will take care of all the DMV paperwork for you.

What do I (the consumer/dealer) have to do?
Contact RoadOne San Diego at 619-661-1022, or contact us online. We will help you through the process and answer any questions you may have. If the vehicle is brought to us (or we can pick it up and tow it to our auction yard for you) by no later than 3:00 p.m. Friday , we will line it for the following week's auction.

What forms are required?
You are required to fill out Consignment Agreement for each vehicle prior to offering the vehicle for sale. You are also required to provide a bill of sale (DMV Reg.262 form), as well as the title (or other form of proof of ownership). We will help you determine if your paperwork will be sufficient. All the forms are available on this site here.

Can I set a minimum price I will accept?
Yes. It's actually something that comes up in conversation during the process. It's important that you let us know what you think is appropriate. At the same time, RoadOne San Diego will be able to provide you with what the current fair market value for your vehicle.

What are the costs involved?
The cost to offer your vehicle for sale is $75.00. This fee includes all advertising, photos, Internet listing and paperwork. If you choose to place a minimum (reserve) on your vehicle, and it doesn't sell, we will reline it for the following week for an additional $25.00.

How long does it take?
Normally you will either pick up your check or we will mail it to you within a week of the sale.

How secure is my car while you have it?
We have chain link fencing surrounding the entire perimeter, topped by three-strand barbwire. The entire fence line is alarmed, and did I mention that the fence is electrified. It has 7000 volts coursing through it. In addition, we have video surveillance and armed security. We haven't had a car stolen yet.
